Refund and Cancellation Policies

Reservations

Reservations are recommended for all activities and are required for guided trips including rafting, zip line and ropes course activities. A credit card or advance payment is required to make a reservation. Full payment is required at the time the reservation is made. We allow split payments for large groups, with a deposit being made at the time of booking and the final payment being made 7 days prior to your trip. Space is limited, and some trips do reach capacity especially during our prime season (June-August). It is best to reserve your spot as far in advance as possible.

Refunds

Harpers Ferry Adventure Center is not able to offer refunds for any reason after a trip is booked and paid for. To accommodate guests who need to cancel a booking, or guests who for any reason are unable to show up on their booked activity date or otherwise cannot make use of their booking, or if Harpers Ferry Adventure Center is forced to cancel the booking due to weather or other unforeseen events, guests will receive credit for the unused booking.

A credit is valid for up to one year from the trip date of the original booking. To use your booking credit, call us with the reservation number for the original booking (shown in the invoice you will receive via email) along with your desired rebooking date. Pending availability of the activity, your rebooking will be made at no charge.

Weather

All activities are held rain or shine. Trips are postponed for 30 minutes in the event of lightning or thunder. In the event of severe weather conditions, HFAC will notify guests as soon as possible to reschedule the trip.

Cancellations

If you decide to cancel your adventure or if you cannot make your trip, you must inform HFAC before the scheduled trip time at which time the amount paid for your trip will be held on your reservation to be used toward any future HFAC activity within one year of the scheduled trip date. There are no refunds for any cancellations.

Harpers Ferry Adventure Center reserves the right to cancel any activity due to unfavorable weather or water levels. While unlikely, HFAC may have to cancel a trip due to inclement weather or unsafe water conditions.

My family and I recently tried white water rafting at HFAC for the first time. We had the best experience! Our guide was very knowledgeable. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. We did flatwater tubing and it was a good route; you can do multiple runs--we did two. We stayed overnight in one of the camping cabins so that we could enjoy the brewery on the property without having to worry about driving and had and had a great time--good beer, live music, pizza, amazing views. There was an issue with our cabin at first and Scott, the property manager, took good care of us and rectified the issue quickly. I've tubed with them twice so far and will definitely be back.

We went on a rafting trip this past Sunday. Wow, what a great time! Our raft guide was Hannah. She did such an amazing job. Her knowledge about the river and how to navigate the raft down the rapids can't be beat. It was a thrill I won't forget!! Hannah also had us stop at unique places like streams and falls that I have never seen before. She was also a lot of fun to talk to and kept us laughing with her jokes. Thanks Hannah for a wonderful adventure I will never forget.

We had an amazing time visiting the Harper Ferry adventure center. Hannah was an amazing guide to go rafting down the river with. Her jokes, personality, and in depth knowledge of the river made it a truly memorable experience. A nice plus is also the brewery right on sight, serving well over 50 beers on tap. Will be back!!

Me and my family had such an amazing experience at the rope course. Our instructor Logan was very kind, and attentive, he provided very clear and helpful instructions while keeping it professional and fun. Thanks to his advice I was able to do the most difficult part of it successfully, thank you.
