Harpers Ferry Kids Camp Leadership Staff
Jennifer Poteet is a visionary program director with over 10 years experience in the field. She has lived in five states and has provided creative leadership and guidance serving in various capacities from public service to education.
Jennifer is an effective communicator who anticipates needs implementing programs, evaluating results, and using outcomes to plan for further improvement.
She specializes in bringing together community resources and improving instructional programming.Jennifer is passionate about her students and co-workers and strives to help them build and strengthen their interpersonal and social relationships.
Among her many accomplishments, Jennifer coordinated and implemented the MindUp program at Driswood Elementary School, which provided her students with self-regulation techniques. Jennifer has volunteered and provided coaching skills to Girls on the Run a not-for-profit after school program as well as serving as a band booster volunteer coordinator for a local high school. She enjoys spending time with her children, cooking, reading and running.
Jennifer holds a BS in Criminal Justice and a M.Ed. From Wilmington College. She is currently working towards her Doctoral Degree in Psychology from Walden University.
Senior Camp Guide – Zipline & Aerial Ropes Course
Austin has worked in the outdoor adventure industry for more than 5 years, including 2 years as a camp counselor for kids ages 9 through 16. He grew up in Shepherdstown, WV and enjoys outdoor activities that get his adrenaline going. His loves teaching kids about nature and the outdoors, and show them how outdoor activities can offer more fun and learning than indoor ones can.
Ella came all the way from Fair Hill, Maryland to work at Harpers Ferry Kids Camp this year. She’s currently studying psychology at Cecil College and wants to be a psychiatrist after she graduates. In Fair Hill, Ella teaches skateboarding classes to kids and runs a camp for it in the summertime. She also holds “Camp Ella” for her two younger sisters. In her free time, Ella loves to skateboard, surf, hike, or do pretty much anything else outside.
